Norris Lake Community Garden Club (NLCGC)

 This Giving Tuesday, support local gardens like Norris Lake Community Garden Club (NLCGC) through Food Well Alliance! Tucked inside a Gwinnett County neighborhood, Norris Lake is the only metro Atlanta community garden on an island. Founded in 2018 by Elena Klonoski and her father John, the garden transformed an overgrown island into a thriving space where neighbors grow food, connect with nature, and work together.

With creative solutions like a gravel pathway for vehicle access and an electric pump funded by the Garden Forward Grant, watering the 26 garden beds, orchard, and donated produce plots is now much easier. The orchard includes pears, pawpaws, pomegranates, figs, apples, and blueberries. Future plans include adding Wi-Fi to automate irrigation.

John emphasizes, “Dollar for dollar, their donations are in the tens to hundreds of thousands if you do the true math of what their dollars really did.”
